It is a sector marked by intermittency, seasonality, lack of stability, and multiple legal relationships that often depart from standard employment models in other areas. The Statute seeks to respond to these needs.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its purpose is <strong>twofold<\/strong>: to regulate professional activity and to establish a social protection regime that supports culture professionals in all eventualities. In essence, the Statute covers three main themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Registry of Culture Professionals (RPAC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the employment contract and service\u2011provision regime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the social protection regime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Registry of Culture Professionals (RPAC)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Statute creates the <a href=\"https:\/\/rpac.pt\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/rpac.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RPAC<\/a>, a voluntary registry that is nonetheless necessary to access the special contribution scheme. Registration serves two purposes: individual identification and the production of statistics to support policy\u2011making and public funding. Registration is handled by the General Inspectorate for Cultural Activities (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.igac.gov.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IGAC<\/a>).\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Employment and Service\u2011Provision Regime<\/strong><br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One innovation is that the Statute also covers workers engaged under service\u2011provision arrangements, granting them specific rights on payment deadlines and event cancellations. For employment contracts, it sets specific rules for workplace and working hours, taking into account rehearsal spaces and the particular nature of performances.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Social Protection Regime<\/strong><br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Statute provides social protection, within the Social Security system, in cases of illness, parenthood, unemployment, disability, and old age.
