It creates a mid\u2011way path between buying and renting, combining elements of both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How is it constituted?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><br>Any property owner (individual or company) may create a DHD, provided the property is free of liens (such as mortgages) and is in at least \u201caverage\u201d condition. Any individual may become a resident under a DHD.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Formalities<\/strong><br>The DHD is established by public deed or by a private document with notarised signatures and must be registered at the Land Registry within 30 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Costs and duration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Security deposit<\/strong><br>Between 10% and 20% of the property\u2019s median market value (according to INE data).
