Eligibility
Heterosexual/female couples and single women (18+); women up to 50; no male donor age limit. Techniques subsidiary to other treatments, except for women (no infertility required).
Access and Costs
- Public (SNS): Free up to age 40 (IVF/ICSI) or 42 (IUI); meds ~€400.
- Private: IUI €600–€1,200; IVF €3,200–€5,200; egg donation from €6,000; donor sperm €350–€1,500.
Legal Notes
Male couples excluded from surrogacy in Portugal, often resorting to costly foreign options (€50,000–€200,000), despite constitutional family rights.
