Judicial certificates can now be requested online by citizens, using their Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key via a dedicated portal, and by legal representatives through the Citius and SITAF platforms.

It is possible to request an Electronic Judicial Certificate for cases pending before judicial, administrative and tax courts, as well as for proceedings under the Public Prosecutor’s Office. This measure, created by Decree‑Law no. 68/2017 under the Simplex+ programme, allows certificates to be issued automatically, without intervention from court staff, which increases speed and convenience. Requests can be submitted outside court office hours and without any need to attend court in person.

The electronic certificate includes a code that enables any authorised person or entity to consult it online. Whether you need to check the status of a case, prove the granting of legal aid, obtain certificates for tax purposes, or access divorce settlement lists or parental responsibility agreements, you can now do so through this online portal. Further information is available at eportugal.gov.pt.
