What are Digital Maturity Seals?
Digital Maturity Seals are a certification suite for companies, created under the Action Plan for Digital Transition and funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). The initiative, developed by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute, the Portuguese Institute for Quality, and the National Mint (INCM), aims to promote the digital transformation of the economy and is recognised by the global “Digital With Purpose” initiative.
How do they work?
Seals are awarded according to compliance with four core requirements:
- Sustainability
- Cybersecurity
- Privacy and data protection
- Accessibility
Organisations may choose one of these requirements to begin the certification process. The Global Digital Maturity Seal is only awarded once an entity meets all four requirements.
Certification levels
Certification is structured into three levels – Bronze, Silver, and Gold – reflecting the organisation’s degree of maturity in the area assessed.
Who can be certified?
Any public or private entity may apply. Organisations should select the requirement most relevant to their business model and contact an accredited certification body.
